This made me want to write even more about music :) I was really looking forward to this release since its announcement - it felt like a belated birthday gift to me. I did feel a little disappointed by how short it was and the interludes. Not as many of the songs stuck in the way the singles did. This review put into words what I love about it, though. It is original and inspired in a world lacking in that and I’m excited to see what she does next.
Thanks so much for reading!! I agree a bit with being disappointed in the length of the album (though I think a big part of that is the marketing/singles - we’d practically heard half the album before it was released!) but I think that’s also a sign it’s a good album. She’s left us wanting more, and I’d rather her do that than pull a Drake or Morgan Wallen and dump as much as she can on an album. Like you said, it’s only made me more excited to see where her career can go from here. (Btw, I’d love to read whatever you write about music!)
Thank you for your kind words :) that’s such a great point about Addison leaving us wanting more vs the trend of artists dumping out 30-track albums. The more I listen to this album, the more I really enjoy it, which is always lovely!
You have good articles but the white text on brat green background is painful to look at. Please at least make the text black.
I tried!! But Substack won’t let me make the text black lol :/
